Decca Records // Andrew Lloyd Webber

Andrew Lloyd Webber was specially commissioned to compose the Anthem for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III & Queen Camilla, entitled “Make A Joyful Noise.”

I had the pleasure of photographing Decca Records studio recording at Angel Studios. It was all top secret before the Coronation which made it all the more exciting! 

It was incredible to hear The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Choir of Westminster Abbey, and Fanfare Trumpeters of the Royal Air Force record in such an intimate setting.

Wall Street Journal - Annie and Tim's timber house with purpose built lake

This was a lovely commission from The Wall Street Journal to photograph Annie Heyworth and Tim Healy and their beautiful, newly built timber house. 

They worked with architects Hamish + Lyons to design their perfect home- a long, low contemporary house that stands on metal stilts and appears to float above a newly dug lake.

The shoot was at the end of January on a beautiful cold and crisp day. The lake was even frozen! The low winter light was incredible streaming through the windows that lined both sides of the house, but it did make it challenging to balance the light and shadows. I would love to go back in summer and see how the light moves around the house. The design has been so considered, it was a joy to photograph. 

Annie, an artist, and Tim, a doctor, were incredibly warm and welcoming throughout the shoot and ultimately so proud of the house they had built. 

Music Portrait Photography - Tuulikki Bartosik

This was a collaborative shoot with a Swedish-Estonian independent artist, musician, and composer called Tuulikki Bartosik to promote her recently released single 'London'. 

She came to me with a brief to create images to support and reflect her new music and portray a feeling of independence and honesty with a strong female presence. 

I had a lot of creative freedom for this shoot and I was so happy that she was up for shooting around the Southbank which gave us the perfect iconic backdrop to create images that were minimal, abstract and contemporary. 

She was a joy to photograph and I am so happy with the work we made together. 

DEFRA - Tree Planting Campaign

This was one of my favourite shoots in 2021, and it was an honour to photograph such an important and positive campaign to promote the benefits of woodland creation and tree planting.  

23Red and DEFRA were great to work with and had a clear brief and creative direction.

We were fortunate to shoot locally to me at a friends farm in Somerset which was the perfect location and provided just the right landscape for the brief. 

It was a dream shoot in the countryside with a great team! 

Yoga Retreat Photography

Squeezed in between the various lockdown restrictions this year was a beautiful yoga retreat hosted by yoga teacher Sadie Tonks and chef El Kemp. I had the pleasure of joining them to photograph the coming together of like-minded souls for a weekend of nourishment for the mind and body.

The retreat was held at Campwell near Bath, a unique off-grid and eco-friendly camp that I have stayed at in the past, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to go back and shoot there. And the weather and light was a magical bonus!

Rufus Leonard // Anglia Ruskin University

Early this year I worked with a dream team at Rufus Leonard to photograph hero portraits and student life at Anglia Ruskin University. The brief was to put ARU's students and faculty members in the spotlight, in bold colourful settings, bringing through the energy of life at ARU.

Guardian Labs // Vodafone Voxi

I recently photographed the internet famous, yet wonderfully down to earth Joel McLoughlin, AKA Gallucks for Guardian labs, you can check out the feature here

I also photographed siblings Emeka and Ifeyinwa Frederick who started the first Nigerian tapas restaurant. When I met them they were half way through a £30k crowd funder to open a permanent restaurant, and they only went and did it! You can check out the article here

Crumbs Magazine // Yoga Supper Club

A few months ago I had the pleasure of photographing Clem’s Yoga Supper Club at the Forge in Bristol for Crumbs Magazine. Clem is famous for her Yoga Brunch Clubs in London and Bristol and this was a rare evening treat! This was a particular joy for me to shoot as I was able to combine all my passions in one job; photography, yoga and food! Win!

Columbia Road Flower Market

Finally got my film developed from a project I started last year! (Outrageous!) 

I love walking around Hackney on a Sunday and seeing people with arms full of flowers or struggling up the street with a big pot plant. There is a ripple of this kind of activity in all directions from Columbia Road. For me, it is the symbol that it's Sunday!

The London Magazine

A recent commission for The London Magazine took me to various wonderful small independent shops around London, where I met the owners and photographed their shops for an article about the challenges independents face, with raising business rates and shoppers buying online. I sincerely hope these wonderful shops continue to thrive and keep their individual, independent charm!

NEW WAVE-Hove

My first job in January was a lovely commission from Rapacioli Studio to photograph a selection of independent businesses and the friendly folk in Hove for the property developers New Wave. Here is the newly released brochure and a few outtakes from the shoot. 

Women's March on London

On the 21 January 2017, the first day of Donald Trumps Presidency, women around the world led marches in solidarity for the protection of women and girl's rights, for tolerance, for equality, for compassion, and for the inclusion - not discrimination - of all people.

I marched and photographed the event with Action Aid UK, alongside Coronation Street actress Natalie Gumede who supports Action Aid. It was a remarkable day.

A lovely commission from the Wall Street Journal took me to Belsize park and South Kensington to document the rise in the rental market in these up-market areas.
